So I’ve got a pretty big announcement to make.
After 18 wonderful months writing copy for AXA, and more than 10 years working for someone else, I’m finally taking the plunge and going out on my own.
Yip, as of today, I’m an entrepreneur businessman full-time freelance copywriter and content marketer. Gulp.
That’s my new name. Well, not my new name, that would just be weird.
But my new company is called Howie Writes. Howie Writes. How he writes. Get it?
To kick things off, I’m taking on a six-month contract with Clydesdale Bank in Glasgow, which starts on Monday.
I imagine I’ll be super busy working on projects and shaping Clydesdale’s tone of voice. But during those six months, and hopefully for the rest of my life (well, at least until I retire abroad), I’ll be available for freelance copywriting and content marketing projects.
Oh. You’re looking for someone to help with your copy or content? Great. Get in touch.
Having worked with AXA Business Insurance for the past 18 months or so, I’m under no illusions how hard it’s going to be to succeed in business.
But I’ll work every day and night to make this work. And I’ll document all the highs and lows on this blog.
As someone who promotes content marketing, I’m the first to admit that I’ve been pretty bad at keeping my blog updated.
But not now.
I’m going to be more open and honest than ever.
I’ll write mainly about copywriting and content marketing. But I’ll also write about business. And productivity. And mindfulness. And anything else that inspires me to get my laptop out and – just write.

Before I go and actually start making some money, I want to thank some people who helped me get where I am and gave me the encouragement and inspiration to start my own business:
2016 has been the most exciting year of my life.
I got married. Sold my flat. Bought a house. Left my job. Started my own company.
I don’t know if I’ll ever top this year. But I do know the adventure is only beginning.
